History

The Galán family has been producing wine since the first quarter of the twentieth century. Benito, the great-grandfather of the family, started the vineyard in the areas surrounding the Alberche´s river bend and set up his own winery. The first wines were very well received in Toledo and Madrid.

In the 1950s, Félix, Benito´s son, took over the day to day management. He quickly became an independent producer by buying a winery from the early twentieth century, which is the one that still belongs to the family.

After a period of grape, not wine, production, that was carried to the recently formed "Cooperativa de San Roque" in Escalona, it´s just the time to Ana Belén Viviani and Raúl Galán, the fourth generation of wine growers and wine makers.

The family tradition has been now reinstated in order to satisfy today´s wine consumers with modern technology, but with the common sense gained from the know-how and experience transferred from generation to generation.
